P Shravan Kumar, superintendent of Gandhi Hospital, who spoke to TNM, said: "Initially, there was a fever. Currently, it is asymptomatic. No fever and blood pressure is fine."

Stating that about 50 people were isolated in the city, he added: "Today (Wednesday) we received 20 reports, all negative."

Noting that the patient's condition is stable, Vijay Kumar, a coronavirus node officer, said: "This is just a rumor that is being done in the circles. We are constantly being monitored and getting better."

Meanwhile, another employee of an IT firm in the city's Cyberabad area has also been reported to show symptoms of the coronavirus. However, the government has yet to formally confirm this.

On Tuesday, the Telangana government said a three-member ministerial committee would meet with key officials to review the situation. Prime Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has announced Rs 100 crore for infrastructure and other measures needed to prevent the spread of the virus.

Health Minister Etala Rajender told reporters after the meeting that more than 3,000 beds are ready to isolate patients with suspected symptoms of coronavirus, while 250-300 beds will be arranged to deal with positive cases if needed.

Beds are provided at Military Hospital, Chest Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, Fever Hospital and Vikarabad Hospital in all government facilities. In addition to these hospitals, the infrastructure of private medical colleges in and around Hyderabad will also be utilized.

Rajender also said that 88 people related to the positive patient were identified and monitored.

Having stated that there was no cause for panic, he urged people not to believe rumors or false information about the coronavirus. He urged people to take precautions when visiting public places. He said they had to use the napkins when sneezing and coughing.
